The work is in setting out the joints. Where the first tile lands decides where the last one ends, and that is how you avoid a two-centimetre cut at the door. We set out before anything is stuck down.
On large formats we use a levelling system; on zellige and hydraulic mosaic, which are irregular by nature, each piece is laid individually and the irregularity is accepted — that is what gives them their look.
